Complete Instructions
- This Discussion Group is available in 2 modes (flavors): LIST or DIGEST.
- You can use CAPS or lowercase, it doesn't matter.
- When sending directions to subscribe or unsubscribe, it is *very* important you (and I can't stress this enough):
- do *not* include your signature line (most eMail software allows you to configure an automatic "signature" at the end of each message you send.) It is *very*, *very* important you do not use this when talking to the software which allows you to subscribe and unsubscribe.
- *must* send only plain text. Most eMail software today allows you to send "rich text" or "html". The software you are talking to does *not* understand any of it.
- To become a LIST member (to join the Discussion Group in LIST mode) send an eMail with only the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message to BERDICHEV-L-request@rootsweb.com (Notice the "-L-" in the eMail address. This denotes LIST mode.)
- to become a DIGEST member (to join the Discussion Group in DIGEST mode) send an eMail with only the word SUBSCRIBE in the body of the message to BERDICHEV-D-request@rootsweb.com (Notice the "-D-" in the eMail address. This denotes DIGEST mode.)
- after you have joined and received a confirmation you are now a member, you can post a message (send an eMail) to all the members by sending it to BERDICHEV-L@rootsweb.com
- It helps to remember to put something in the "Subject:" line of your eMail.
